You can cancel your Galatea subscription at any time. Follow the steps below for the platform you used when you originally subscribed. If you are not sure which platform you used, check your original purchase confirmation email.
⚠️ Deleting the app does not cancel your subscription. If you delete the Galatea app, your subscription will continue and you will keep being charged until you cancel it through your app store or account settings. Always follow the steps below to cancel properly.
What happens when I cancel?
Cancelling stops your subscription from renewing at the next billing date. You will keep full access to all subscriber content until the end of your current paid period. No partial refunds are issued for remaining days.
Cancel on iOS (Apple App Store)
Use this method if you subscribed using an iPhone or iPad, or if your original purchase receipt came from Apple.
- Open the Settings app on your device
- Tap your name at the top of the screen
- Tap Subscriptions
- Tap Galatea in the list
- Tap Cancel Subscription and confirm
You can also cancel from inside the Galatea app:
- Tap More (bottom right corner)
- Tap Settings
- Tap Manage Subscription — this opens your Apple subscription settings
- Tap Cancel Subscription and confirm
Cancel on Android (Google Play)
Use this method if you subscribed on an Android device, or if your original purchase receipt came from Google Play.
- Open the Google Play Store app
- Tap your profile icon in the top right corner
- Tap Payments & subscriptions, then Subscriptions
- Tap Galatea in the list
- Tap Cancel subscription and follow the prompts
You can also cancel from inside the Galatea app:
- Tap More (bottom right corner)
- Tap Settings
- Tap Manage Subscription — this opens your Google Play subscription settings
- Tap Cancel subscription and confirm
Cancel on Web (galatea.com)
Use this method if you subscribed at galatea.com and paid through Stripe. This will not work for subscriptions purchased through Apple or Google.
- Go to galatea.com and sign in to your account
- Navigate to Account Settings
- Under Subscription, tap Manage or Cancel Subscription
- Follow the prompts to confirm cancellation
Not receiving a cancellation code?
If the link is not working or you are not receiving a code, your subscription was likely purchased through Apple or Google — not the website. Please follow the iOS or Android steps above instead.
After you cancel
- Your subscription access continues until the end of your current billing period
- You will not be charged again after the current period ends
- Your reading progress and library are saved to your account
- Free users can still read free books and use any points earned before cancelling

- The platform you subscribed on (iOS, Android, or Web)
- The date of the most recent charge
- A screenshot of your subscription settings showing the current status
- Your User ID (More → Help and Support → Copy My User Info)
