You may notice changes to how the countdown timer works or how many points a chapter costs. Here's what's behind those changes.
Why has my timer gotten longer?
As you read more chapters of a story, the countdown timer between chapters may increase. This is by design — the timer gets progressively longer the further you read.
To unlock chapters faster without waiting, you can:
- Tap the Get Points tab at the bottom of the app to earn free points through various offers.
- Purchase a subscription for unlimited access to Galatea Originals — no timers at all.
Why do some chapters cost more than 10 points?
Some chapters are priced above the standard 10 points. This helps us better support our authors. The cost is shown before you unlock, so you'll always know what to expect.
Why doesn't my book have a timer anymore?
Some books have moved to a points-only or subscription-only model — meaning you can't wait out a timer to unlock chapters. You'll need to either use points or have an active subscription. This change is part of our ongoing effort to support our authors.
